Rockfish sorted for the market out of Half Moon Bay, March 2026

In mid-March 2026 Capt. Scott Dipman put up a photo on the Fish Reapers Sportfishing Instagram with a simple caption: sorting some rockfish, then off to the market.

The photo shows what that looks like. A long metal tray is packed with rockfish laid out side by side, and the sorting is happening right there before the fish go on their way to market.

Scott fishes Half Moon Bay as a commercial fisherman as well as running charters out of Pillar Point Harbor, and this post shows that side of the business. His note on the post was an invitation to anyone who wants fresh fish: if you are in the market for some, let him know. Delivery is available.

If you would rather catch your own, rockfish are one of the species on the charter menu. The Rockfish, Lingcod and Halibut trip is an 8-hour day, and there is a private-boat rockfish trip as well for groups of up to six guests.
