Crab on board out of Half Moon Bay, December 2025

At the end of December 2025, Capt. Scott Dipman shared a short video on the Fish Reapers Sportfishing Instagram. The caption is two words and a crab emoji: got crab.

The still from the video shows exactly that. A bin is packed full of crab, shells piled on top of one another, with legs reaching in every direction. It is the kind of picture that needs very little explaining.

Scott runs Fish Reapers out of Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay, and crab is one of the things he fishes for, both commercially and with guests on the boat. The charter menu lists a Crab half-day trip of 4 hours, and a Crab Combo of 8 hours that adds rockfish, lingcod and halibut to the day.

The post does not give a count or say who was on the boat, so we will leave it there: the crab were on board, and the post leaves it at that.
